Spring Changes: A Simpler Technician Experience

In a heat wave, the snow, the mountains of Colorado - technicians need to perform repairs and inspections at a moment's notice and as efficiently as possible. In our ongoing pursuit to make our mobile application simpler, we're implementing the following enhancements:

  • Switching "Actions" and "Details" tabs so that "Actions" appears first. What's more, the action items will be reconfigured to only the work order process flow items - Accept, Arrive, Complete - in the technician's view. Service center administrators using the mobile app will still have the capability to assign events to technicians, who will receive a mobile push notification.
  • Removing the option to reject service events. To lesson confusion between dispatchers and technicians when events are prematurely rejected, the button to reject service events on the mobile app will be removed. Events can still be rejected by service centers on the web portal and technicians can communicate directly with dispatchers in the comments section on the mobile app.
  • Including tire information in inspection forms. When tire components are marked defective, the technician will be prompted to enter information such as the brand, tread depth, and DOT number.
  • Rewording “Serial #” to “DOT #” and “Location” as “Position." These terms are more relevant to the commercial trucking and intermodal industries and provide a more clear understanding of line items required to complete a service event or inspection.

Share the Love: February Enhancements

  • "Share Event" function includes the option for followers to receive updates to the service event. Have an outside party that would like to receive notes on service event progress? Now, users have the option for added email recipients to receive automated email notifications for services added, comments, and status changes. In light of this, the button will change from "Send Email" to "Share Event".
  • Add custom messages when sharing events. The pop-up of "Send Email" will have an additional tab with a list of people with whom the event has been shared. If the service event is re-assigned to a new service provider or the equipment owner is changed, the event followers added by those parties will be removed.
  • Service providers have the option to upload their logo. By clicking to the control panel, service provider portals may opt-in to upload their logo to appear in the map view of all service events occurring in and surrounding their specified service radii. If the service provider does not upload its logo, a default icon will appear.   • Add tags to agreements. Truck dispatchers may add one or more tags to agreements created with service providers. These tags are visible only to truck dispatch team members and are added in the agreements tab of the control panel. The tags associated are listed when reviewing vendors in the Find Service Center list.
  • Public URL to Upload Invoice. Truck dispatchers and equipment providers may accept invoices via a public URL from service providers not using REACH. In the control panel, a checkbox is available to let vendors submit invoices for REACH events; once it is checked, a public URL of the form is generated and can be sent to vendors not on REACH to submit invoices, PDF files, and images. A notification email will be sent to the truck dispatch or equipment provider once the invoice is received.
  • Driver Attributes. The following attributes are available for the driver's REACH account and will be availalbe data points in reporting:
    • City
    • State
    • Zip
    • DOB (Date of Birth)
    • Hire date
    • License state
    • License number
    • License expiration date
